Safety and Quality Investment in Livestock (SQIL)
Training on: Good hygiene and safety practices for livestock farm staff
The SQIL project is funded from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and it is implemented by Land O'Lakes Venture 37 , with the partnership of Georgian Farmer's Association.
This project aims to reduce losses, improve food safety and quality, boost competitiveness, productivity and trade within the Georgian dairy and beef market systems.
Within the SQIL project, trainings will be held by Kutaisi "Vocational Education and Trainings Center"
Around 300 livestock farm workers from Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti, Guria and Adjara regions will participate in the trainings. 20 two-day trainings will be held (May, June, July, August, September 2021).

Kakha Sokhadze- Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Head of the Quality Management and Recognition Division, Food Safety Department, Food Safety Expert;
Giorgi Chachava- Doctor of Chemistry, Senior Specialist of the Quality Management and Recognition Division, Food Safety Department, Food Safety Expert.
Levan Sakhvadze- Certified Occupational Safety Specialist;
The aim of the training program is to increase awareness of livestock farmers regarding requirements for FBO registration, application of veterinary medicines, farm hygiene, safety and record keeping. Obtaining this information primary producers will be able to fulfill regulations, avoid fines, improve competitiveness, and remain access to the market.
Participants of the training / seminars will be awarded a certificate and training materials developed within the SQIL project:
